Here the No 1 cab secondman's droplight and quarterlight windows are seen on 50030.
At the time scissors and window catch on the droplight had recently been repaired.
A major task in this area that kicked off around this time was the woodwork. Whilst work had been undertaken to fit the windows to make the loco's look more presentable, the woodwork in many places was in a very poor condition, or simply missing, which can be seen in this picture (around the quarterlight area) before work started on it.
All four of the sets of cab windows needed significant work undertaking on the woodwork which was a task started around this time.
