Another view of 50030's cab on December 13th 2009. Most of the gauges and instruments were missing or smashed when we purchased the locomotive and work is continuing on the woodwork in the cab.

A complete view of the driver's desk in the number one end of 50030. Replacement dials and instruments have been sourced and the blue panel containing them has been refurbished. 13th December 2009.

As shown previously in this set of pictures, work has been progressing well in No 1 cab, however, to give members a fuller appreciation and view of the progress that has been made to date, the opportunity was taken to test fit some of the items that are being kept safe while other work progresses. The above view shows the driver's desk in No 1 cab on the day of the RRRG AGM (13th December 2009).

RRRG has acquired a forklift truck for use on site, which we make available to Peak Rail and other groups on site. RRRG Site Manager Dave Rolfe is a trained forklift driver in charge of the vehicle. The ex-50008 power unit it seen to the right. 13th December 2009.

One of RRRG's many spare turbochargers seen on 29th November 2009. Even though both 50029 and 50030 each retain all four of their turbos we have acquired numerous spares with a view to overhauling the best ones.

The same cab warning light resistors (left of the picture) are seen, with the brake indicator light resistors on the right of the image. The brake indicator lights are mounted above the Secondman's door in both cabs, and show which of the braking modes (air-pass, air-goods, vac-pass, vac-goods) has been selected. 29th November 2009.
