The generator set has been fitted with two new bearings, at this stage only the one at the brush box end had been fitted, which is seen above, covered in a liberal coating of grease. 17 February 2009

The fan end plate has been cleaned and repainted, but was still awaiting fitting of its new bearing, and still needed fitting to the field winding case. 17th February 2009

Above is seen a close up of the refurbished brush boxes in the ETH generator, also showing the new PTFE insulators that have been fitted. At this stage the comutator was still covered in masking, hence the red colour, and the brush boxes were still awaiting fitting of the new carbon brushes. 17th February 2009

The fan end of the ETH Generator is seen in the process of being cleaned up following painting. At some stage in the past the machine had been varnished without having the end plates masked up, resulting in varnish being on the mounting surfaces. As this needed cleaning off anyway, Bowers didn't mask this area, and were in the process of cleaning the varnish and paint off at the time this picture was taken. 17th February 2009
