Topham, Jones and Railton were a firm of contractors in London. Their wagons were painted in a bright golden ochre livery, probably as their wagons would often be seen at stations frequented by the company's customers, or potential customers. This wagon represents the period in which railfreight still dominated from the Grouping to the 1950s. The low sides of these wagons helped prevent overloading with bulk aggregates.
