During October 2010 we purchased a CU1 Control Unit from Paul Spracklen (Owner of 50026). The unit is complete and had been tested by Paul, the only known defect on it was on one of it's output amplifiers, which on close inspection had a sheared brass connection bolt.
Another view of the CU1 purchased from Paul Spracklen. Obtaining this device was a significant step forward, as the CU1 is one of the vital class 50 specific control units, and is one of the more complex. Re-manufacturing whilst possible would have been very expensive.
Along with the CU1, we were also lucky enough to obtain a number of Paxolin boards for 50029's electrical cubicle. The most complicated of which was this one which has the change over switch and a couple of fuse holders in place. Whilst these boards may not seam that significant, 50029 and 50030's electrical cubicals were missing virtually all of the boards, and re-manufacturing them, would have either been very time consuming or costly. As such we were very grateful to Paul for letting us have these boards that he had in store.
