An extra day today with just Richard and myself on site. Richard brought some angle-iron and flat plates he had made, so we could create a bar for new lampholders to go behind the headcode box lenses, as both headcode boxes are missing the original lampholders and whatever framework they were attached to. We checked his original measurements, then drilled and fastened the plates to the angle, attached the new brass lampholders, and wired them to a new terminal bar. The wiring was encased in Spiroband and cable-tied to the angle using some of the cable-tie mounts I have. The three feeder cables in each cab are still there, but will need re-terminating on the new terminal bar as the original crimps are very dirty. Once the first one is fitted satisfactorily in No.2 cab, we can make another for No.1 cab.
